Flemish manuscript. Jean Miélot, born in Gueschard (Somme), between Abbeville and Hesdin, at an unknown date between 1448 and 1449, worked in the service of Philip the Good as a copyist, illuminator and translator. In 1455, he became canon of the collegiate church of Saint-Pierre in Lille. In 1456, he compiled the 126 Miracles de Notre Dame in prose.
